DIRECT VENEERS SOLVING A COMPROMISED SMILE WITHOUT BURS PREPARATION Female, 42 years old, unhappy with her teeth, especially about color, gaps and shape of her smile. She was looking for a treatment with minimum reduction or intervention on teeth. After an explanation about benefits of direct composites, for this case, the patient accepted our treatment planning, bleaching and direct composite veneers. The treatment started with the bleaching: 4 appointments office bleaching, 2 sessions by week and 2 walking-bleach sessions, 1 session by week. The appointment of making the direct veneers (starting in the photo 4) lasted about 3 hours and the final polishing and anatomy details (photo 13) lasted about 2 hours.

The advancement of adhesive dentistry and composite resins, enables the current practioners in dentistry, to perform clinical direct interventions impossible, until a few years ago. In fact, the adhesion today allows us to work so that achieving amazing results, quickly and conservatively, since we know the materials available and their proper applicability to reproduce the beauty of dental anatomy. In this case, we present the solution of a case in which the patient, a young woman, 33 years old, that was searching to improve her smile without time-consuming treatments and also little invasiveness in relation to tooth reduction or surgery.

The purpose of this article is to show a case where the dental and gingival aesthetics were involved. A periodontal treatment was performed aiming to health and gingival aesthetic and teeth were treated with direct composites and this is the main restorative material on this case, which gives treated teeth the same physical and optical properties under different light sources, thus avoiding metamerism phenomenon.

A very common and challenging situation to be solved on the daily office, is when we have a central incisor to be reproduced following his homologue. With composite resin or porcelain, we must reproduce the characteristics of the existing natural tooth so that its colors and shape are as similar as possible.

A 24 year-old female patient came to us to solve her case. An anterior tooth - 2.1 - with a composite veneer, but with defective color and shape. The tooth had a root canal treatment performed. Our option was to redo the composite veneer using direct composite resin.
